How To Use PostSnail

Use the admin as a local writing desk, proof generator, backup tool, and verifier.

1. Create Your Identity

Open the admin, go to Identity, add your site title, handle, description, and public URL if you already know it. Generate a publisher key and protect it with a passphrase.

2. Write And Publish

Use Write for Markdown posts and optional local images. Drafts stay local. Published posts are included in generated static bundles.

3. Export Shell

Open Generate and export an encrypted .postsnail Shell after identity setup and meaningful writing sessions. This file is the private editable source.

4. Export Website ZIP

Unlock your key, open Generate, and export the public Website ZIP. Keep the fingerprint and manifest proof summary with your release notes.

5. Verify Before Sharing

Use the Verify tab to drop the ZIP back into PostSnail. Share the bundle fingerprint when you publish so readers and trackers can compare the public proof files.

6. Migrate Legacy Backups

Use Import Legacy Backup JSON only for old PostSnail backups. The admin restores the data and downloads a new encrypted .postsnail Shell using your Shell passphrase.
