Core Foundation

The Core Foundation documents what PostSnail Core owns and what stays out of Core.

What PostSnail Core Owns

PostSnail Core owns encrypted Shells, workspace schema and migrations, public Website ZIP export, proof files, identity signing boundaries, compatibility rules, plugin/theme manifest foundations, route-level asset declarations, and public export safety checks.

What Stays Out Of Core

SnailLift, Forest product policy, ShellNames, Pages CMS, Comments, Canopy, ShellSeed, PostMail, plugin marketplaces, and arbitrary plugin execution stay outside Core unless they change the stable source/export/proof boundary.

Extension Rule

New features should be optional extensions first. Unknown optional fields are ignored safely. Unknown required features fail clearly before import, verification, or export could become misleading.

Current APIs

Alpha 2 exposes plugin registries, hook planning, plugin migration helpers, theme registries, Quiet Feed defaults, route asset resolution, and public export safety under src/core without moving stable modules yet.
